I don't put a lot of stock in athletes and celebrities taking a stand on political issues. That's mainly because they are rarely any more informed on an issue than you or me (although they occasionally surprise). But the professional sports industry in the US is so blindly jingoistic that it's nice to have someone speak up once in a while.
