Number 11
This was one of the more bizarre moments in the war on terror, when some folks organized something called the America Supports You Freedom Walk to take place on and commemorate the people killed on September 11. If that was the whole story, it wouldn't have been banal. The walk was also to be a show of support for the military. And it was closed off to protesters. Oh, and it was also closed off to supporters (though what kind of support can you show on the anniversary of the worst day in American history?), since those who didn't register before the event could get near the thing.
Granted, ANSWER's show on the Mall a few weeks later was hardly the political event of the century, but I give them a free pass here because they had some good music with them. And the jingoists are in the ascendancy.
Freedom isn't Free. Dom.
