Pure Gold
No, I'm not talking about the new $50 gold coin that's coming out. Sweet. They should've put William Jennings Bryan on the coin (that goes out to all you late nineteenth century time-traveling political junkies). Is it me, or does it seem like a great idea to buy a bunch of those gold coins and just hold onto them until they're worth gazillions?
Anyway, the "pure gold" to which I'm referring is none other than the nightly shtick of Bill O'Reilly. He's kind of faded into the background lately, because a lot of people saying a lot of crazy things, and he no longer corners the market on lunacy. You really need to start watching his show, though, because I think that he may go nuts very very soon. Although, along the lines of my theory about Ann Coulter, I think that Bill might just be a po-mo soucier of jingo-talk. If so, he's a genius, I'll give him that. But he's getting a little sloppy, in ways that his colleague Ms. Coulter is not. His latest rant is that Iraq should be governed in the very way that Saddam ruled it.
He's talking about Saddam Hussein, right? Not Saddam Holcomb, or Saddam Thompson? I guess I can entertain the idea that not fully supporting the war undermines the efforts of the most powerful military force in history, but how does Bill come off not undermining his boys when he praises the ruling style of the guy we've spent $300 billion getting rid of? Wait, could he mean Saddam Wallingford?
I always thought he was a true believer, but lately Bill O'Reilly comes off sounding like a wrecker, of the Kamenev-Zinoviev sort. When can we arrest him?
