He's not in your sightline

One candidate who's not up for election this November is Dick Cheney. At least, not directly. Chances are he's going to get a lot more opportunities to cast votes as the President of the Senate in the next Congress, especially if we end up with a 50-50 tie after November 7. Since taking office in 2001, "Richard" has cast 7 votes in the Senate, not that the link is going to give you the skinny on what he was actually voting for.

The most noteworthy of the seven votes was the tie-breaking vote he cast in the spending bill last December. Merry Christmas, foster kids.



Cheney currently enjoys a popularity rating between 20% and 40%. If I were running ads in states with close Senate races, I'd have Dick up on the screen, complete with his greatest hits.
